Cornell University Announces Extension for Test-Optional Policy

On Monday, Cornell University announced that it will extend its current temporary SAT/ACT test-optional policy for freshmen applicants during the 2022 application cycle. Freshmen applicants are those who have completed 12 credits of coursework or below. The extension will apply to both regular and early applicants. Students who have taken the test can choose whether or not to submit their results.

The following colleges have adopted a score-free policy and will not consider submitted test scores at
all:
– College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
– College of Architecture, Art, and Planning
– Cornell SC Johnson College of Business – Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management
– Cornell SC Johnson College of Business – School of Hotel Administration


The following colleges have adopted an SAT/ACT testing optional policy and will consider scores that
have been submitted:
– College of Arts & Sciences
– College of Engineering
– College of Human Ecology
– School of Industrial and Labor Relations
